Couch covers are a good and cost-effective way to give a new life to your old seats or protect them from dirt and pet hair. However, sometimes the cover slides or moves around leaving the couch, sofa, or armrest looking very untidy.
In order to make your sofa look neat, it can be annoying to straighten and secure the bed cover every time you leave the sofa. If this sounds like a problem you’ve had, then worry not- the following are reliable tips you can utilize to ensure your couch covers stay in place.
1. FOAM INSERTS
All Hotniu sofa covers come with 4-6 foam inserts, which you place in the crack between the arm of the sofa or the back and the seating cushion.
Step 1: Stretch the cover over your chair and tuck in the excess fabric at the back and arms so that it accurately aligns itself with the structure of your sofa.
Step2: You simply stuff the form insert deep into the crack and it will ensure the cover stays in place quite well.
This is our first suggestion and we highly recommend it, because it is convenient and practical, and you don't need to spend more money to buy them, because they have been included in our product packaging as gifts.
2. ROLL UP SOME OLD MAGAZINES
Anything that is rolled into a tube such as a cardboard or a rubber non-adhesive shelf liner can be used to hold the seat covers in place.
You can also use a magazine or newspaper. Simply roll it up and use duct tape or masking tape to hold it into a tube. Push the rolled magazine tube between the back and the cushions and sides of the couch as indicated earlier and the cover will stay in place.
Step 1: Stretch the cover over your chair and tuck in the excess fabric at the back and arms so that it accurately aligns itself with the structure of your sofa.
Step 2: Roll numerous pieces of magazine and tie them into a tube using the rubber bands or ropes.
Step 3: Tuck in the rolled newspapers in between the creases, this way, adjusting the cover into shape.
Step 4:
Press the tubes down until the cover aligns with the shape of your seat. Ensure it is tight enough to prevent it from slipping.
3. MAKE USE OF A WOODEN STICK OR A SPOON
You'll need: A wooden stick or spoon.
Step 1: Stretch the cover over your chair and tuck in the excess fabric at the back and arms so that it accurately aligns itself with the structure of your sofa.
Step 2: Next, using the wooden spoon, tuck in the bunched fabric as deep as possible. Also, using the back of the spoon, smoothen the middle sections before pressing the edges towards the creases.
Step 3: Lastly, straighten the drawstrings along the base of the chair to ensure the whole cover is in place.
